Crescent
by Jessica Ehran Probus
Welcome the moon
into any window
into the space
between buildings
into the reflective
surface tension of
a still pond
any shape or
phase will do
but in particular
the waning crescent
that clipped off fingernail of god
a reminder that
the discarded parts
are still divine
that the small things
grow back with time
that a shadow
tells you less about the
object and more about
the light
into any window
into the space
between buildings
into the reflective
surface tension of
a still pond
any shape or
phase will do
but in particular
the waning crescent
that clipped off fingernail of god
a reminder that
the discarded parts
are still divine
that the small things
grow back with time
that a shadow
tells you less about the
object and more about
the light
